Recipes

Here are links to the chili and the cornbread we had at our house a few weeks ago...

Cornbread - we usually double this to fit in a 9x13 pan, otherwise no changes:

Chili - Tom smoked a pork loin and shredded it to use in place of the meat listed on the recipe. He also cut way down on the spices, and it's still spicy but delicious.

And here's a picture of my girls cause they're so cute. :)

Happy November, family!  It's already the 12th!  It will be Christmas before I get turned around.  Hope you're all doing great and are looking forward to Thanksgiving at the Lindhardt's home.  Correct me if I'm wrong, Anneke, but I think the plan is for them to get all the food and then we'll all help pay for it.  Last year at this time, I was getting ready for another surgery. Glad I'm not this year.  Mom, Darla, Kathy and I are doing chocolates this Saturday. So far I made a batch of caramel that I cooked too long and they're too hard, and a batch of cream centers that went to sugar.  2 for 2.  I'm sure you'll all love my chocolates.
Even though this is a month that we think of our blessings, I count all of you as my best blessings every day!

Sophie's New Room

Hello Family,

I've been meaning to post for a couple weeks now, but life has been crazy busy. I have been so busy at work trying to get ready for our national expansion project and I have my paralegal annual meeting on Friday that I am in charge of.

Anyway, my dad gave us Hollie's old bedroom set a few months ago and we finally got around to repainting it and putting it together for her a couple of week ago. I wish we had before and after pictures, but here are some pictures of the finished product anyway so you can admire our handiwork. ☺️

She is so excited that she has even been keeping her room clean which is an added bonus! Anyway, I will try to be better about posting more! Love you all!

P.S. Thanks so much for the books, Joyce! They came today and Sophie was so happy! See you next week! ☺️

It's October!!

Hi family.  Time for postings - so I hope you all post what's going on in your families.  I'm looking forward to Cousin's Camp next week!  Check-in is at 1 or shortly after. Then on Saturday please pick up the campers by 3 or so.  Andy, Madie, and Amy are the counselors this time and I think I have some fun things planned.  And sorry, but Bella and Ollie are not invited, even though I love them both.  I'm fine.  My foot's the same, but I'm fine.  I still go out in my garage just to look at it cause it's so nice and clean and organized.  Thanks again for that.  By the way, did any of you see any signs of mice in there?  I hope not.  My prep time is about over and my class will be back soon, so I better get ready for math.  Sure do love you all!

Hello.

Hello family. Are you there?
I finally remembered about this blog and that I haven't posted anything. Neither have any of you except a little something from Cyndie.  :)
I was thinking maybe we need to set a goal to have something written from each family by the 5th of each month? Or what do you think? and is there a way to get notified when something new has been posted? I thought there was but I can't find it or figure it out now. Anyway, for me I need to have a deadline to have something written or it probably won't happen. Another fun thing to do might be to share dinner ideas- I know I get stuck in a rut and would LOVE all of your ideas and recipes. And/or share any good deals you find on fun things to do or restaurants or stores. Good deals are always good to share. :)
Our dinner recipe tonight:
Leftovers. Go to the fridge and find whatever you can. Warm it in the microwave and hope it still tastes good.

You're welcome.

Like all the rest of you I'm sure, we're knee deep in school - homework, projects, field trips, etc., soccer practices and games, church activities, etc. Kara just started a new class - it's with Performance Academy and she learns singing and dancing. She's so so excited about it and counts down to Tuesdays. It's adorable. My friend and neighbor from Woods Cross who just moved up here to Pleasant View teaches it.  She's learning Christmas songs and Kate has started the school choir now and they are learning Christmas songs, so we're already very much in the Christmas spirit around here.

Tom had his tonsils out Monday. Today (Wednesday) has been a rough day for him. This might be a very long 2 weeks of recovery. Poor guy.

Our house is going to get painted next week and I'm more than super excited! I can't wait for you all to come see our new abode - just keep in mind its great potential. :) It will be a whole new house once the painting is done. We have installed new can lights and will be getting new blinds and shutters and ceiling fans once the painting is done. I'm excited to have it start feeling like "our" house. I'll post before and after pictures.

Love you all!
